Auckland House School (Junior Section) Celebrates Annual Day with Joy and Creativity
The Junior Section of Auckland House School, Shimla, came alive with colour, music, and youthful energy as the institution celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm. The event witnessed wholehearted participation from the little Aucklanders, who captivated the audience with their talent, innocence, and confidence. The distinguished Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Oshin Sharma, HPAS, SDM Shimla Urban, who in her address lauded the efforts of the young students and remarked that the confidence, creativity, and stage presence displayed by the children were commendable. She further added that programmes like these nurture young minds, instil discipline, and promote cultural values at an early age.
The day’s proceedings began with a soulful rendition of the Opening Hymn “Here I Am to Worship” by the students of Form I, which set a serene and reverent tone for the morning. This was followed by a lively and imaginative musical play, “The Toy Shop,” presented by Form II students. With colourful costumes, engaging dialogue delivery, and spontaneous expressions, the performance transported the audience into a world of fantasy and childhood wonder, drawing loud applause from parents and guests. The vibrancy of the day continued with a wide variety of dances, action songs, and short skits presented by students from Nursery, LKG, UKG, and Forms I and II, each performance reflecting artistic flair and the cultural richness of India.
The programme offered a delightful blend of entertainment and learning. From the innocence of “Aya Wo Lalariya” and the joy of “I’m So Happy” to the spirited beats of “Punjabi Dance” and the rhythmic grace of “Gujarati Dance,” every performance brought a unique flavour to the stage. Contemporary numbers such as “Believer” and “My Bestie” displayed the confidence and energy of the children, bridging the modern with the traditional while retaining the charm of childhood. The action songs “Kookaburra” and “Chun Chun Karti Aayi Chidiya” won hearts with their simplicity and playfulness, while thematic dances like “Golden Melodies” and the colourful “Rajasthani Dance” celebrated India’s cultural heritage through rhythm and movement. Each item drew enthusiastic applause, with proud parents cheering for their children’s efforts and teachers’ guidance shining through the polished presentations.
On this occasion, the Principal of the Junior Section, Mrs. Smaraki Samantaroy, presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements and milestones of the year. She spoke about the academic progress, extracurricular activities, and the holistic development of students, emphasising the role of parents, teachers, and the school in shaping young lives. She noted that the Annual Day was not merely a stage event but the culmination of teamwork, creativity, and learning that instils confidence and discipline in children while giving them the joy of shared success.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem, sung in unison by students, staff, and guests, which filled the hall with a sense of pride and unity. Parents and dignitaries expressed appreciation for the seamless organisation of the event and noted that the Annual Day was not only entertaining but also meaningful, carrying an educational essence that reflected the ethos of Auckland House School. The celebrations left lasting smiles on the faces of students and parents alike, making it a memorable occasion and reaffirming the school’s commitment to providing young children with a platform to explore their creativity, build confidence, and grow as responsible individuals in the heart of Shimla.
