The Himachal Pradesh cabinet has expressed concern over the heavy loss of life and property due to the recent heavy rains, landslides and floods in the state. Expressing grief over the death of 32 people in the state due to natural calamity, the cabinet expressed its deep condolences to the bereaved families in a meeting of the cabinet held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today. At least 6 people are still missing and 12 have been injured in the state due to heavy rains.

The soil of Himachal Pradesh is synonymous with Dev traditions and folk culture. In this episode, the soil collected from 52 religious and heroic places of the state was presented by the Secretary, Language, Art and Culture Rakesh Kanwar to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today, which will be used in the new Parliament House under construction in New Delhi.
