The elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions identify the beneficiaries of various schemes and programs of the State Government and reach out to maximum beneficiaries so that they can be encouraged to strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions of Saraj Vidhan Sabha constituency at Sanskriti Sadan in Mandi today.
The Chief Minister said that out of the 78 panchayat heads of the Seraj assembly constituency, 76 belong to the BJP. Similarly 69 deputy heads are affiliated to the party. He said that along with ensuring development and welfare of the people in their areas, Panchayat Pradhans should work to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Gram Panchayats are the most important unit of democracy and play an important role in the development of rural areas of the state. Therefore the role of the elected representatives of these institutions becomes all the more important. He said that the elected representatives should also contact the enlightened persons of their respective areas and encourage them to join the party. He said that the people of Seraj have a huge responsibility to ensure a massive and record victory of the BJP in the coming assembly elections.
The Chief Minister also released a diary published by the Saraj BJP Mandal on the occasion.
BJP State President Suresh Kashyap said that the people of Seraj are fortunate that the representatives elected from Seraj are representing their constituency as well as representing the entire state. He said that the representatives should also give due respect to the candidates defeated in the elections and make efforts to bring them back in the party. He also urged the elected representatives to work tirelessly to strengthen the party’s base in their area. He said that there is no dearth of budget for development works and it requires only commitment and hard work.
On this occasion, many Panchayat Pradhans and Up-Pradhans gave their valuable suggestions regarding strengthening the party.
