Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a huge public meeting in ‘Progressive Himachal: 75 Years of Establishment’ function organized on the occasion of completion of 75 years of the existence of Himachal Pradesh at Chail Koti in Kasumpti assembly constituency of Shimla district today. And announcement of opening of sub-tehsil in Koti, setting up of 33 KV power sub-station in Koti, upgradation of Bani and Patchar Government High Schools to Government Senior Secondary Schools.
The Chief Minister said that roads are the fate lines of hilly states like Himachal Pradesh and they play a major role in the progress of the state. He said that the present State Government has given top priority to the construction of roads in the State and despite the COVID pandemic, 4200 km long roads have been constructed during the last four and a half years. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, launched by former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is playing an important role in providing road connectivity to remote areas of the state. He said that about 51 percent roads have been constructed in the state under this scheme.
Jai Ram Thakur said that presently India is safe under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has emerged as a world leader and under his leadership the country has achieved its old glory and honor. He said that the credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing the country out of the difficult phase of the COVID pandemic and motivating Indian scientists to develop indigenous vaccines. He said that Himachal Pradesh has done excellent work in vaccination campaign and Himachal has been a leader in achieving 100% target of first and second dose in the country. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated the efforts of the state to achieve this achievement.
The Chief Minister said that the opposition party governments in the state had not launched a single scheme for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden. Whereas, the present state government has started welfare schemes like Sahara Yojana, Mukhyamantri Shagun Yojna, Himcare, Mukhyamantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna and Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Yojana for the welfare and upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. He said that in view of the assembly elections, the opposition leaders are misleading the people of the state.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Congress has become leaderless, issueless and directionless party. To maintain the pace of development in the state in the coming years, double engine government in Himachal and at the center is very important.
Accusing the leaders of the opposition of calling the welfare schemes of the present government a temptation, the Chief Minister said that now these leaders are talking of discontinuing these public welfare schemes if they come to power.
A theme song composed on 75 years of the formation of Himachal Pradesh was sung on the occasion. A documentary on the glorious journey of 75 years of Himachal Pradesh prepared by the Department of Information and Public Relations was also screened.
Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap provided information about various welfare schemes of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Center for eight years. He said that the State has made remarkable progress under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
The Chief Minister and other dignitaries were welcomed by the BJP leader of Kasumpti Assembly Constituency Vijay Jyoti Sen on the occasion.
